NICO at Home with Eluera
How did you enjoy creating the NICO at Home content?
I created the content with my best friend, Connor, at home so it was a lovely comfortable experience full of laughs. Although it can be daunting having your picture taken in lingerie, the pieces were so comfy and flattering so I felt great.
What does self-care look like for you?
Self-care for me is taking time for myself and trying to listen to what my body needs - whether that is either a rest day at home realigning or hanging out with friends to boost myself up again. Sometimes I just sit at home and sing karaoke songs or I’m a big fan of a bath at the end of the day to wind down too.
How does sustainability play a role in your daily routines?
Sustainability is something I am still learning about for sure, but making small changes like sticking to having vegetarian meals at home, and shifting from buying fast fashion to doing more op shopping for second-hand pieces - although it can be more expensive, investing in pieces that I know I can have for a long time.
Your music fuses pop with emotion in such a beautiful way. How has your musical style evolved to what it is today?
I grew up playing everything with my acoustic guitar. I would sing folk songs down at the markets busking so I feel like that definitely influenced the way that I write music. When I met my first producer, Dylan, we were able to blend that with his amazing pop production. We shared such a deep care for lyrics and melody that it made the process so lovely. My style continues to change with what I’m listening to at the time but I just try to go with what is inspiring me at that moment.
Describe your song writing process for us.
I usually just sit down with my guitar on my bed when I am having big feelings, then whatever flows out of me, I will take to a producer and sometimes a co-writer and get it all done from there. I find collaboration such an important part of creating music. Everyone has such a different way of creating or saying something so I love to use that to bounce off each-other and make the best possible version of the songs.
